Carolina Track Sweeps ACC Performer Of The Week Honors

Chapel Hill, N.C.--The University of North Carolina garnered top honors in the ACC this week with Jill Pedretti and Mike Cvelbar both receiving ACC Performer of the Week after each turned in an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Pedretti, a sophomore from Verona, Wis., won both the javelin and discus throws and finished third in the hammer throw at the UNC Challenge Cup last weekend. Pedretti's mark of 170'8" in the discus is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. She won the javelin with a mark of 147'8" and had a distance of 158'2" in the hammer throw.
Cvelbar won the decathlon at the Florida State Relays last week and finished second in the javelin throw at the UNC Challenge Cup over the weekend. Cvelbar's point total of 7,269 in the decathlon is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and is also a personal best. Cvelbar had a distance of 188'1" in the javelin throw.
Cvelbar shares the men's ACC performer honors with NC State's Isaiah Oglesby who also provisional qualified in the hammer throw with a mark of 202'05".
