CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-The University of North Carolina softball team will resume its suspended game against Virginia this Friday, April 13, at 8:30 a.m. at Finley Field. The game, the second of a doubleheader played on March 31, was halted due to rain and darkness after six scoreless innings. The Tar Heels won the first game of the doubleheader 2-1 in nine innings.
Friday morning's action will begin at the top of the seventh with first baseman Hannah Owings, the No. 7 hitter, batting for Virginia. Designated player Carrie Bates is due to lead off the bottom of the seventh for UNC.
Friday is a school holiday (Good Friday) for the University of North Carolina, allowing the game to be played that morning without conflicting with class schedules.
