Carolina Men's Tennis Dominate Season Opener

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- The University of North Carolina men's tennis team dominated the Davidson Wildcats, 7-0, at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center Thursday afternoon.
Marcio Petrone, the senior from Bairro, Meireles, Brazil, led a young group of Tar Heels as the #1 player and swept Chad Windebarger, 6-2,6-2. Petrone then teamed with junior Greg Archer in doubles play to defeat Gould/Windebarger, 8-3.
The 34th- ranked Tar Heels will face the Texas Longhorns on Friday, February 1 at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Longhorns are currently ranked 20th in the nation and holds a 10-2 advantage over the Tar Heels.
