Tar Heel Sports Network Sideline Reporter Killed in Auto Accident

CHAPEL HILL -- The University of North Carolina family suffered a tragic loss late on Friday night, when Stephen Gates, a member of the Tar Heel Sports Network radio crew, was killed in an auto accident outside of Chapel Hill.
Gates, 27, was the longtime play-by-play voice for the Tar Heel baseball and women's basketball teams. He also had been the sideline reporter for the Network's football broadcasts for the last five seasons.
