Tar Heels Fall at Harvard

Cambridge, MA - No. 19 Harvard won five of six singles matches en route to a 5-2 win over No. 9 North Carolina in women's tennis action Saturday afternoon at the Murr Center Courts. The Crimson rebounded after a close 4-3 loss to 4th ranked Northwestern on Friday. The Tar Heels fall to 11-4 with the loss.
North Carolina staked an early 1-0 lead by clinching the doubles point. Celia Durkin and Melissa Anderson were the first off the court, topping Caitlin Collins and Charlotte Tansill, 8-1, at No. 3 doubles. No. 9 Kendall Cline and Aniela Mojzis beat Courtney Bergman and Susanna Lingman at No. 1 doubles. Sara Anundsen and Jenna Long clinched the point with a 8-5 win over Elsa O'Riain and Stephanie Schnitter at No. 2 doubles.
Senior Aniela Mojzis defeated the Crimsons' Courtney Bergman 6-3, 5-7, 10-7 for the lone Tar Heels' singles win. Bergman defeated number one ranked Audra Cohen in Friday's match against Northwestern. Mojzis improved her singles record to 19-9 with the victory.
Carolina continues its five match road swing against FIU on Monday, March 14.
