The UNC Women's Golf Team Tied For 16th Place

Browns Summit, N.C. - The University of North Carolina women's golf team stands in a tie for 16th place after posting a 323 total in the first round of the Bryan National Collegiate. Sydney Crane, a freshman from Jamestown, N.C., led the Tar Heel effort with a six-over 78 and is tied for 40th place.
Purdue leads the team race after firing a seven-over-par 295. Duke is three strokes back in second place with a 298 total while Wake Forest is third at 299 and Georgia and Florida are tied for fourth place with 300 totals.
Liz Janangelo of Duke fired a five-under 67 to grad the lead in the individual race. Nannette Hill of Wake Forest and Leah Wigger of Virginia are tied for second place at one-under 71, five shots behind Janangelo. Purdue's Onnarin Sattayabanphot and Florida's Whitney Myers both carded an even par 72 and are deadlocked in fourth place.
For the Tar Heels, Lauren Hunt, a freshman from Little River, S.C., is one stroke back at 79 and is tied for 53rd. Sophomore Ann Laney, from Charlotte, N.C., and senior Romi Irons, from Austin, Texas, both carded an 83 and are tied for 81st place. Katie Miller, a junior from Jeannette, Pa., posted an 86 and is 87th.
The 54-hole event continues through Sunday and is being played at Bryan Park Champions Course which features a par 72, 6,210-yard layout.
