As part of the Get Kids In Action program, UNC student-athletes make regular visits to local elementary schools to help youngsters learn about being active and staying healthy. The third-year program is a partnership between the University of North Carolina School of Public Health, the UNC Department of Athletics and the Gatorade Company.
On a recent afternoon at Hillsborough Elementary School, a group of kindergarten and first graders got their daily dose of exercise while having fun with Tar Heel diver Laura Filip, rower Despina Kastanaki and golfers Barden Berry and Chase MacFarland.
