Megan L. (Durham): Thanks to my parents, I've followed UNC women's soccer for practically all of the 20 year dynasty. Since the late 90's, the pool of good female players has deepened and given more schools a chance to compete with UNC in NCAA play. Two schools stand out to Tar Heel soccer fans- Santa Clara and Notre Dame. The Heels have battled the Irish over the last 3 years, with fans of both teams agonizing over opportunities missed. Today, in weather more suitable to ND, the Tar Heels stood up and grabbed their opportunities against a worthy rival. Congratulations ladies and coaches- and thanks especially to the seniors. Now let's bring home the men's championship too!!!
