The Changing Face Of TarHeelBlue.com

Recently, the athletic department, in conjunction with CSTV, redesigned TarHeelBlue.com. We received a great deal of reader feedback, both positive and negative. Many viewers loved the redesign, including Darryl from New Bern, who said: "Love the new design. I can not get my kids off the Carolina website so I (Daddy) can get my up to latest Carolina news! Awesome!"
Tom, a Rams Club member, expressed the same sentiment: "I love the new site, especially the 'Inside the Huddle' and 'Inside Carolina Basketball with Roy Williams'. I look forward each day to viewing new videos in each of those sites...and the price is right."
Still, others had valid points and we thought it would be a good idea to address some of your top concerns.
Schedule/Results - The most overwhelming suggestion was to bring back the schedule and results to the front page. The information is accessible, by clicking on the "Schedule" page in the top navigation bar. However, viewers wanted more information without clicking off the front page. As a result, we have placed the schedule and results area at the bottom of the front page. The daily listing of each event, including Gametracker links, All-Access audio information and other live stat links is also available by scrolling through the events.
Multimedia Content - Many TarHeelBlue loyalists are not clear about the location and capabilities of our expanded multimedia content area. The multimedia content has expanded greatly since TarHeelBlue.com first began. The New Media deparment, working closely with the communications and marketing office, has developed several outstanding features over the last year. Our challenge was to find a way to bring those to you. The video player is located on the front page and on every sport body page for your viewing enjoyment. Additionally, we have added several "channels" of multimedia content, including "Inside the Huddle with Butch Davis" and "Inside Carolina Basketball with Roy Williams." More channels are on the horizon.
The previously named "All-Access" area is available by clicking on the Tar Heel Sports Network button for broadcasts of men's and women's basketball, football and baseball games. The coaches radio shows and other special features are also available here.
The multimedia section also includes links to ACC Select for broadcasts of Carolina's Olympic Sports and a podcast area for audio interviews, Woody Durham's daily shows and postgame comments from players and coaches. You can subscribe to the UNC podcast in iTunes and choose to have the audio clips automatically downloaded to your computer.
Newsstand - Several viewers could not find the Newsstand, which is a daily listing of links to stories from around the country on the Tar Heels. It is available in the multimedia content area beneath the video player.
As you can see below, TarHeelBlue.com is an ever-changing and evolving source of information on ALL 28 of Carolina's varsity programs. While there is great interest in men's basketball and football, Carolina's other varsity sports are among the best in the country and we cover them like no other site.
We hope you enjoy the new TarHeelBlue.com and, as always, we welcome your your feedback.
