Trio Named To ACC All-Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - A trio of Tar Heel softball players were named to the 2008 Academic All-ACC Team on Thursday as announced by the ACC office. Recent graduate Cassie Palmer along with rising seniors Breanna Brown and Emily Troup were the Tar Heel representatives on the 30-member squad. Brown and Palmer were two of 10 All-ACC performers to be named to the All-Academic squad.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
The Tar Heels were tied for fifth in the league with Virginia Tech as both schools put three athletes on the team. Anna Evans was the lone Tar Heel to earn the honor in 2007.
