Welcome Back Picnic Kicks Off 2008-09

North Carolina student-athletes gathered to open the new school year Monday evening wwith the annual Welcome Back Picnic. The Tar Heels enjoyed a barbecue dinner then launched into activities and games including wiffle ball, football, bubble-blowing and hula-hooping.
Senior Marcus Ginyard, a men's basketball player who will serve as Student-Athlete Advisory Council President for 2008-09, spoke briefly to welcome his fellow Tar Heels to the new year. Director of Athletics Dick Baddour also welcomed the members of UNC's 28 varsity teams.
