Biener Promoted On Strength And Conditioning Staff

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Eric Biener, a member of the University of North Carolina strength and conditioning staff since 2005, has been promoted to a full-time position as Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for Olympic Sports. He works primarily with men's lacrosse, women's tennis, and wrestling and also assists with baseball, men's and women's soccer, track and field (sprint/hurdle), and volleyball.
"We're excited to have Eric join the staff on a full-time basis," said Greg Gatz, Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports. "His enthusiasm and dedication are evident in the way he coaches our student-athletes. He has been an important part of our team for the past three years and we look forward to his continued contributions as we all work to make sure that our Tar Heel student-athletes are prepared to perform safely and successfully."
efore coming to UNC, Biener worked as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Central Florida, where he assisted with implementation of strength and conditioning programs for many of the Knights' varsity sports.
iener is a 2005 graduate of UCF with a bachelor's degree in sports and fitness. He earned a master's degree in exercise physiology from UNC in 2007. He also holds certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
