4th Annual UNC Dance Marathon Homecoming Golf Tournament Set For Nov. 6
October 6, 2009 | General
Oct. 6, 2009
This year the UNC Dance Marathon is holding its 4th Annual UNC Dance Marathon Homecoming Golf Tournament. We want to invite everyone to participate.
Friday, November 6th, the day before the big Homecoming game against Duke, will be a day filled with friends, fun and most importantly, golf. The tournament will be held at The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club in Durham. This is a Davis Love III signature course, and it was voted one of America's Top 40 new golf courses by Golfweek Magazine.
For those of you who haven't heard of us, the UNC Dance Marathon is the largest undergraduate student-led fundraising organization at UNC-Chapel Hill. We work year-round to raise money for the patients and families of the N.C. Children's Hospital through the For The Kids fund and special grants. Our efforts culminate in February with a 24-hour marathon in which over 1,000 students pledge to stand on their feet for 24 hours.
We are excited to continue raising money For The Kids through the golf tournament. The tournament will begin at noon on Friday, with registration starting at 10:30 a.m. The format is a Florida Scramble played in teams of four. We will place you on a team if you register alone, or you can create your own foursome and sign up together. The cost is $100 per person ($50 tax deductible) for the day of golf, a box lunch, an awards ceremony, a thank-you raffle and a dinner following the tournament.
The dinner is open to everyone, so invite your family and friends to join us at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance for non-golfers. It will include southern barbeque, raffle prizes and musical entertainment.
I hope to see all of you there! If you have any questions, please email me at dwjordan@email.unc.edu or call me at (214) 215-4779.
For the Kids,
Nicki Drawbridge
2010 UNC Dance Marathon Alumni Relations Chair
