rown was selected with the 24th overall pick and was the lone player from the Atlantic Coast Conference selected. The Durham, N.C., native is a .327 career hitter for Carolina and is coming off one of her most successful seasons yet where she set new career highs in nearly every offensive category.
"Breanna is a very talented outfielder, both at the plate and in the field," Rockford Thunder General Manager Aaron Moore said. "She is a player that could help the team out in several areas."
Due to NCAA regulations an active college senior student-athlete is not eligible to sign with her respective franchise until her 2009 collegiate season is complete.
