Carolina Falls Short Against Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - North Carolina lost 4-2 to a top-25 ACC opponent on Wednesday afternoon.
Twenty-fifth ranked Wake Forest won the first four team points decided to clinch the win against the Tar Heels.
Carolina started out the match with a huge upset in doubles play. No. 27 Clay Donato and Taylor Fogleman beat Wake Forest's Steve Forman and Cory Parr, ranked first in the nation, by the score of 8-6. The win was the second for Donato and Fogleman against a No. 1 doubles team in the 2008-09 season, as the pair beat then-No. 1 Carl Sundberg and Daniel Vallverdu of Miami in the 2008 All-American Championships.
"It's a good win for [Donato and Fogleman]," said head coach Sam Paul.
In singles, both Fogleman and Luke Mojica fought back from 3-6 first set losses to win their individual matches. Fogleman defeated Steve Forman 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(5), while Mojica won 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 against Iain Atkinson.
The Tar Heels will travel to Clemson, S.C. on Friday, April 10 to face the 59th-ranked Tigers. The match will be played at 3:00 p.m.
