Carolina Second in Latest Directors' Cup

Led by national championships in women's soccer and men's basketball, the North Carolina athletic program has had quite a successful year. In the most recent Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings, UNC ranks second in the country. The Cup has been presented annually since 1993-94 to the institution that records the highest number of points in a pre-determined number of sports for men and women.
North Carolina has 1062.75 total points in the standing released May 28. The Tar Heels finished in the top 25 in five of the seven spring championships completed. North Carolina finished second in women's lacrosse, fifth in men's lacrosse, seventh in women's golf and 17th in both women's and men's tennis.
The next standings will be available on June 19.
