Tar Heels Notch First Win of 2010 Season

CHAPEL HILL - The 28th-ranked UNC Tar Heels opened their 2010 season with a 7-0 sweep of the Presbyterian Blue Hose Sunday afternoon.
Carolina won all nine singles and doubles matches that were played.
Coming off last weekend's appearance in the doubles final of the National Collegiate Tennis Classic, Clay Donato and Stefan Hardy led the charge at No. 1 doubles with an 8-1 win. UNC's No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams won by a combined score of 16-6.
In singles, Jose Hernandez was dominant in his first collegiate match, defeating Matt Martin 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Thirty-sixth ranked Donato won 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles position, and No. 99 Brennan Boyajian rounded out the top three with a 6-2, 6-0 win.
The Tar Heels will take on North Carolina Central in the second half of Sunday's doubleheader at 7:30 p.m.
