CHAPEL HILL, NC -
Zach Brown and Kwabena Keene tooke time out of practice on Tuesday to podcast with UNC Athletic Communications assistant Sara Walker about their performances in the 60 and shot put, respectively, at Saturday's Kent Taylor UNC Classic.
Brown broke the Carolina school record in the 60 meters by .06 seconds with his blazing 6.73-finish. Brown joined the track team at the start of the indoor season, coming over from UNC's football program to work on his speed. Brown was a starting outside linebacker for the football team and hopes to use his experiences with Carolina football as well as his high school track experience to reach the NCAA National Championships in track.
Keene broke his personal record in the shot put for the second time in the 2010 indoor season with his throw of 57-6 1/4. That mark puts him just inches away from breaking into the UNC record books for the event.
