Brennan Boyajian Advances to Main Draw at D'Novo All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla.- Brennan Boyajian has qualified for the main draw of the 2010 D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships.
The Tar Heels junior lost the first set in each of his three qualifying matches before taking the second and third set.
Boyajian, ranked No. 66 in the ITA Tennis preseason poll, started his run through qualifying on Monday with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 win over Yannick Weihs of Denver University. He continued his fine form Tuesday when he outplayed California-Berkley's Christoffer Konigsfeldt 3-6, 7-5, 7-5.
Wednesday he faced off against Tsvetan Mihov of Oklahoma and again went down early, dropping the first set 2-6. However, he roared back once again to dominate the last two sets 6-1, 6-3.
Boyajian will face Florida's Alexandre Lacroix, the No. 9 player in the nation in the 1st round of the main draw Thursday morning. Elsewhere in the main draw, fellow Tar Heel standout Jose Hernandez - ranked No. 30 nationally - faces qualifier and 90th-ranked Peter Lucassen of the University of Southern California.
