CHAPEL HILL - Tar Heel Sports Properties (THSP), a property of Learfield Sports and the multimedia rights holder for University of North Carolina Athletics, announced today that WNOW-105.3 FM in Charlotte is the newest addition to the Tar Heel Sports Network beginning this fall.
THSP secured an agreement with 105.3, a 51,000-watt station that will carry the evening broadcasts of UNC football games and the majority of the men's basketball broadcasts. Concurrent with the WNOW addition, Tar Heel Sports Network will continue its partnership with Charlotte's WFNZ, "610 AM The Fan". This sports/talk station continues its long-time affiliation with UNC Athletics, carrying all football, men's basketball, coaches show and other related programming such as Primetime in the ACC and UNC daily shows.
"We're continually looking at ways we can provide exceptional UNC coverage over the airwaves, and we're pleased to be adding 105.3 FM and extending 610 The Fan," said Associate Athletic Director of Marketing Rick Steinbacher. "We are fortunate to have one of the most comprehensive, quality radio networks in the country. Tar Heel Sports Properties has done an outstanding job over the years ensuring the best coverage for UNC fans."
The University of North Carolina is one of more than 50 properties represented by Learfield Sports.
