
Carolina Opens Fall At Duke Fab Four Invite

CARY, N.C. --- Junior Lauren McHale and freshman Caroline Price advanced to singles quarterfinals Friday to lead the North Carolina women's tennis team on day one of the Duke Fab Four Invite at Cary Tennis Park.
McHale topped Cierra Gaytan-Leach of Texas in the White Flight round of 16, 6-4, 7-5, while Price defeated Julia Jones of Ole Miss in the Blue Flight, 6-0, 6-3. McHale will face 25th-ranked Anna Bartenstein of Miami in Saturday's quarterfinals, with Price set to meet Alabama's Alexa Guarachi.
Junior Zoe De Bruycker was forced to withdraw from the singles tournament due to illness. The 2011 All-America and No. 6-ranked singles player competed in doubles with McHale before pulling out of the singles event.
