Brock Leads Tar Heels At Day 1 Of UNC Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- Senior Danielle Brock led Carolina with a win in the women's 60-meter hurdles on the first day of the UNC Invitational at the Eddie Smith Field House. The meet continues Saturday with field events beginning at 10 a.m. and track events starting at noon.
Brock took first in the hurdles with a time of 8.52, as junior Ariel Roberts finished sixth in the event in 8.97. The 60-meter dash was a close race as senior Malai Walker finished second in 7.70 and freshman Iman Wilkerson placed fourth in 7.77.
Junior Chrishawn Williams finished second in the long jump with a leap of 19-7, while senior Jacinda Evans took fourth (19-1 1/2) and junior Ariel Roberts finished eighth (17-1 1/2). In the weight throw, freshman Kayla Adams finished seventh with a distance of 50-2 1/2.
