Schechter Out At U.S. WoMen's Amateur

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Tar Heel golfer Maia Schechter bows out in the second round of match play at the 112th U.S. Women's Amateur which is being played at The Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio.
Schechter, a rising sophomore from Takoma Park, Md., lost 5 up to Su-Hyun Oh, from Australia. Oh went 1 up on the first hole and never trailed, winning 5 up after 14 holes. Schechter was the last Tar Heel to bow out of this year's event. Casey Grice lost in the first round of match play while Courtney Gunter and Catherine O'Donnell failed to advance after two rounds of stroke play.
Play in the prestigious event concludes Sunday with a 36-hole championship final match. This marks the first time The Country Club in Cleveland has hosted the U.S. Women's Amateur.
