ESPN/ASA Preseason Poll Ranks UNC No. 21

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - North Carolina is ranked No. 21 in the pre-season ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America and USA Softball announced today.
Last week, UNC was tabbed at No. 22 in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Preseason Poll, confirming the Tar Heels as a top-25 preseason selection. The Tar Heels are one of just two ACC teams in the top 25, as No. 24 Florida State joins UNC in the top picks. Alabama was the top choice in both preseason rankings.

After winning the ACC regular season title, North Carolina finished the 2012 season ranked No. 24 with a 43-15 mark as after the Tar Heels advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 10th time in the last 12 years.
