Today in Tar Heel history
Double dose today: Nov. 7, 1981 and Nov. 7, 1987. Neither of these are particularly good memories. On the '81 date, the No. 8 Tar Heels lost 10-8 to No. 2 Clemson at Kenan Stadium. It was the first top-10 meeting in ACC history. You might not even recognize the '81 version of Kenan in this video:
Six years later, the two teams met again. and No. 10 Clemson again took a narrow win, 13-10. The most notable part of the game, though, was that it was televised nationally and started at night, which meant portable lights had to be brought into Kenan for the occasion. Permanent lights were added the next year.

The uniform nerd in us loves this: a complete breakdown of the various uniform (and court) changes you'll see in college basketball this year. Note that you won't see Carolina on this list, but that doesn't mean you might not see something different at some point this season.
