Just guessing: you already know the top story from yesterday. Here's the Adam Lucas postgame column on the win over Michigan State...This might be the best Storify we've had, with lots of tweets from former players on the win...Tom Izzo was despondent after the loss...How about some highlights of the win?
And then, how about the locker room celebration?
Dean Smith would absolutely loathe this headline, but the story is informative...
Tar Heels in the NBA
Twelve points and nine rebounds for John Henson...Fifteen points for Vince Carter off the bench for the Mavs...Ty Lawson had 11 assists for the Nuggets...Marvin Williams sat out with a foot injury.
Football
Notre Dame is in a scheduling jam for 2014, and is trying to move one of five scheduled ACC games (one of which is UNC) to 2015...Interesting Q&A with Tar Heel football/lacrosse player Mark McNeill.
Tar Heels in the NFL
He's not in the NFL just yet, but this SI mock draft pegs Eric Ebron as the No. 19 pick in the first round this coming spring...
Olympic sports
Yael Averbuch is a former Tar Heel women's soccer player, current US National Team member, and a very good writer...Two UNC teams are among the five-best of all time as chosen by this website...Women's basketball got a very solid 75-62 win over Nebraska at Carmichael...
Today's games
None.
Today in Tar Heel history
Dec. 5, 1980: An early December basketball game against Duke? It happened in 1980 as part of the Big Four Tournament in Greensboro. The tenth-ranked Tar Heels won this one, 78-76. James Worthy had 26 points and Carolina came back from a late 73-71 deficit. Matt Doherty hit the eventual game-winning free throw with 12 seconds left.
Long read
There might not be a chance to enjoy a win like this for a long time. Go back to the basketball section and read through all those hoops stories.
