UNC Moves To No. 24 In NFCA, ESPN Polls

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- North Carolina moved up to No. 24 in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls this week after opening ACC play 3-0 this past weekend against Boston College.
UNC and Virginia Tech are the only ACC schools ranked in the top 25 in either poll. Florida State is recevinging votes.
Carolina (18-6, 3-0) was placed No. 25 in last week's polls after a brief period out of the national rankings. The Tar Heels face two top 25 teams in this week's contests, No. 17 Kentucky on Tuesday and No. 11 Louisville on Friday. Sunday's opponent, Iowa, is also receiving votes.
The USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll is voted on by 31 NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference.
