Tar Heel Spotlight: Elisha Elliott
April 19, 2013 | Softball
GoHeels.com is highlighting each Carolina softball player this season, and today's Tar Heel Spotlight is with Elisha Elliott, a senior outfielder from Lexington, N.C.
GoHeels.com: What is your best memory of your softball career so far?
Elisha Elliott: My best memory of my softball career so far would be my freshman year when we played Florida State. It was the third game of the series, and each team had won one game, meaning that the winner of this game would win the series. The game had went back and forth, and it finally ended with us winning. I have never been so pumped for a game in my life, and I can still remember the feeling of victory when the game was over. I have had that feeling several times since then, but this memory sticks out the most in my mind.
GH: How did you get started playing softball?
EE: I began playing softball when I was in fifth grade. I was always a little tom boy growing up, and when my best friend at the time told me she was playing softball for the local community team, I decided to give it a try as well.
GH: Why Carolina?
EE: To be part of the winning tradition and get a great education.
GH: What is your favorite class this semester?
EE: My favorite class this semester has been my recreation 475 class which is about disability, culture, and therapeutic recreation. In this class we have been granted the opportunity to create a volunteer training manual for the Valor Games. The Valor Games provides an introductory adaptive sports competition for veterans and service members with physical and visual disabilities. Veterans have a special place in my heart, and it is an honor for me to be able to reverse the roles and serve them for a change.
GH: What is your dream profession?
EE: Occupational Therapist
GH: What is your favorite pre-game snack?
EE: My favorite pre-game snack would be strawberries and bananas.
GH: What is your walk-up song?
EE: "Anything" by Beyonce
GH: If you could play another sport, what would it be?
EE: If I played another sport I would play volleyball.
