One of the strangest incidents in UNC-ECU history was when a Pirate staffer was caught spying on a Tar Heel practice. In a time change announced yesterday, the Tar Heels' game at UAB on Dec. 1 to visit former assistant coach Jerod Haase now will start at 6 p.m. Eastern and be televised by the new FOX Sports 1...Yesterday was 2013-14 media day for the Tar Heels in the Smith Center. Today in Tar Heel history
Sept. 27, 1997: Mack Brown and the Tar Heels demolished Virginia, 48-20, at Kenan Stadium. The game was a payback from the previous year's heartbreak against the Cavaliers. The fifth-ranked Tar Heels initially fell behind by 17 points before running off 45 straight, including a Dre' Bly interception return for a touchdown.
