This is an Insider story, but it's a pretty detailed breakdown of the NCAA Tournament picture, and the takeaway for the Tar Heels is that they're firmly on the correct side of the bubble, but not so safe that they can coast...Yes, yes, it's early for these brackets, but here's one that has Carolina as an 11 seed...A behind the scenes look from Jones Angell at the weekly Roy Williams radio show...Some ESPN ratings numbers for college basketball. North Carolina has two of the four highest-rated markets and three of the top 10, plus the UNC-Kentucky game is the third-highest rated game so far this year.

Does it seem like the Bucks have an inordinately high number of insightful blogs that cover them? Here's another one with some surprising stats on how John Henson stacks up against some much better-known post players. Henson came back from an ankle injury Monday night and had eight points and five rebounds in 17 minutes...Raymond Felton had 19 points as the Knicks won their fifth in a row...Vince Carter had 17 points, and Wayne Ellington added a season-high 12 to push Dallas to a win...The Warriors are trying to get more consistency from Harrison Barnes...Danny Green is out four weeks with an injury:
Darn you, Creighton! Whoops, never mind. This particular wrist/hand injury actually has nothing to do with Creighton...The Nuggets have started a campaign to help Ty Lawson make the All-Star Game, and they did a good job with this video:

Today in Tar Heel history
Two Tar Heels with very similar levels of athleticism share a birthday today: New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks and former Tar Heel baseball player/assistant coach-turned South Carolina head coach Chad Holbrook. OK, so maybe you don't want to see Chad run a post route, but Hakeem might not want to hit a curveball, either.

This Esquire list of the top breakfast spots in America includes Franklin Street's Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe. Hard to beat M&M pancakes. Not at all important Tar Heel footnote to that list: the first place on the list, The Waysider in Tuscaloosa, is where several members of the UNC baseball traveling party had breakfast the morning after Chad Flack's home run sent Carolina to Omaha in 2006. The food tasted fantastic but not sure if that had to do with the actual food or the circumstances.
