Today in Tar Heel history
Jan. 15, 1997: Already 0-3 in the conference, Carolina stormed back from a nine-point deficit against NC State with 2:34 to play, and won 59-56 at the Smith Center. Disappointingly, we couldn't find any video of this game online, but it was an epic comeback, complete with Wolfpack turnovers, missed free throws, and great plays by Antawn Jamison, Vince Carter and Shammond Williams.
There's much more to come on the 1997 team's ACC start on this site later today.
Long read
This column by Mike DeCourcy is one of best things we've read so far in 2014. It makes so much sense that there's no chance it will ever be implemented.
