Tar Heel Tennis Finishes Day Two In Las Vegas

In singles, Hayley Carter was defeated by default at the hands of Stanford's Taylor Davidson.
In the consolation singles quarterfinals, Laura Slater took down Alexis Garrett of UNLV, 6-0, 6-2. Later in the day in the consolation semifinals, Slater lost ,6-0, 6-0, to UCLA's Catherine Harrison.
Tessa Lyons picked up a victory over UNLV's Iren Kotseva. She won the first set, 6-4, before Kotseva retired from the match in the second set.
In doubles, Whitney Kay and Ashley Dai fell to Marianne Jodoin and Rachel Kahan of Duke, 7-6. Lyons and Slater lost, 6-3, to UNLV's Lucia Batta and Santa Shumilina.
Final day of the tournament begins Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
