Long read
This is not specifically UNC-related, but it's definitely North Carolina-related. A NYT reporter went to Hudson, N.C., to watch some of the World Series with Madison Bumgarner's dad, and the result is a great story about a part of our state you don't hear much about. By the way, Bumgarner committed to Mike Fox and the Diamond Heels and would've been on the same Tar Heel staff with Alex White, Matt Harvey and Adam Warren. Seems like things have worked out for him OK in the pros, though.
