And we'll end this section with something a little different: Marcus Paige and several other Tar Heels helping make a young man's day (or maybe week):
Tar Heels in the NBA
Vince Carter and Brandan Wright had eight points apiece in Charlotte, while Wayne Ellington had four...Tyler Zeller had six points and four rebounds...Marvin Williams had nine points and seven rebounds in a win over the Lakers, while Kendall Marshall had seven points and seven assists. Speaking of Marshall, this is an impressive stat:
Lakers Kendall Marshall is tied for 7th in NBA with 10 double-doubles, he's done it in just 23 games (only 15 as a starter).

The Pistons have promoted Rasheed Wallace to assistant coach, so expect Detroit to win the Eastern Conference. Especially today, you should remember that Wallace once declared that as long as he, Jerry Stackhouse and Jeff McInnis were at Carolina together, the Tar Heels would never lose to Duke. He was right, as they went 4-0 against the Blue Devils.

Today's games
Well, let's see what's on the calendar for today. Doesn't look like there's anything. Oh, wait, here's something: men's basketball hosts Duke at 9 p.m. on ESPN, the ACC Network (affiliates), the Tar Heel Sports Network, and every television set that belongs to anyone you would ever want to be friends with. You can also watch online nationally via WatchESPN or in the ACC area via the ACC.
Today in Tar Heel history
Feb. 12, 1997: Vince Carter had a flying block of a last-second Danny Strong three-pointer to preserve a 45-44 Carolina win at Reynolds Coliseum. Just imagine how furious the Reynolds crowd was after this game. You probably have to have been to a game at Reynolds to understand just how awesome this was.
Key sequence, which Ishua Benjamin probably still has nightmares about, begins about 4:35:
Long read
There's only one possible long read today: the famous Daily Tar Heel column by Ian Williams from 1990 entitled Why I Hate Duke.
