Carolina Athletics has a strong history of achievement and innovation, a tradition of excellence that spans more than a century. But every success story has to start somewhere.
Tar Heel Trailblazers is a UNC Athletics initiative recognizing those who paved the way for success in all aspects of the Carolina student-athlete experience. The program kicked off in February of 2014 when, in honor of Black History Month, UNC recognized four African-American trailblazers who made significant impacts on Tar Heel athletics.
