Tar Heel Rundown: February 13
February 13, 2014 | General
Basketball
Well, that was odd. UNC-Duke was rescheduled for next Thursday, Feb. 20. No gametime or TV information announced yet. Not really sure what else to say other than the Tar Heels have a big game against Pitt coming up Saturday at 1 in the Smith Center...That's a Stripe Out the Smith Center game and will have some special social media elements as well (details to come)...Guess it's just another chapter in the ACC's best rivalry...Nice tweet from Marcus Paige:
Big time thanks to all the determined students who came to wait for the game today. The Dome would have been going crazy for sure!

In some non-timely news--unless you're already filling out your 2018 calendar--it looks like the Tar Heels will be part of a very unique coast-to-coast event.
Tar Heels in the NBA
Marvin Williams scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds...Harrison Barnes scored 14 points in a narrow loss to Miami...Vince Carter had 11 points and Brandan Wright had seven...Eight points and seven boards for Tyler Hansbrough in 18 minutes...Seven points and five rebounds for Danny Green...Eight points and 12 assists for Raymond Felton in an OT loss...
Matt Doherty ran into Jesse Holley at a Texas Legends game:
Pleasant surprise #2 - seeing former UNC FB & BB player and former Cowboy Jesse Holley at Legends game. Tar Heel. pic.twitter.com/Vd3JomkecI

Football
There's a proposal to penalize college teams who play too fast. SEC coaches aren't happy, and you wouldn't think Larry Fedora would be, either.
Olympic sports
Tar Heel freshman Jamie Loeb is now ranked as the top singles player in the country...
Today's games
Women's basketball hosts Pitt at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.
Today in Tar Heel history
Feb. 13, 2010: Carolina snapped a four-game losing streak by beating NC State, 74-61, at the RBC Center.
