Tar Heels Head To UNCG Thursday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina will head to Greensboro this Thursday to play UNCG at 4 p.m.
The Tar Heels and Spartans were originally set to play a doubleheader on Wednesday, but inclement weather forced a change in plans.

Scouting the Matchup:
Carolina is 62-14 all-time against UNCG and defeated the Spartans 7-3 at home in 2013.
North Carolina: After sweeping a doubleheader at Pittsburgh on Saturday, the Tar Heels are now 13-11 and 7-1 in ACC play, sitting in the No. 1 spot in conference standings. Kristen Brown (.312) has posted 23 RBIs and 19 runs on 24 hits, including seven homers, while Jenna Kelly (.351) has 19 RBIs and 13 runs on a team-high 26 hits.
Lori Spingola, who broke the UNC career record with her 98th win this past weekend, is 8-6 in the circle with a 2.84 ERA. After tallying 13 strikeouts in the two games vs. Pitt, Spingola now has 1,010 career strikeouts, including 88 this season.
UNCG: The Spartans are 11-12 and 1-2 in SoCon play. The Spartans went 1-2 this past weekend in a series with Georgia Southern. Katelyn Bedwell has a team-high .435 batting average with 18 RBIs and 14 runs. Nicole Thomas leads with 24 RBIs, while Allison Geiner has scored 18 runs with 24 hits. Raeanne Hanks (3.65 ERA) is 6-6 on the mound, notching 74 strikeouts in 76.2 innings.
