CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina men's tennis team has released its schedule for the 2014 fall season, which will begin on Friday at the Napa Valley Invitational in Meadowood, Calif.
Coach Sam Paul's Tar Heels are tasked with a crowded schedule that includes three in-state tournaments: the Elon Invitational (Sept. 26-28), the Wake Forest Invitational (Oct. 10-12), and the ITA Carolinas Regional, which will be played in Chapel Hill from Thursday, Oct. 16 to Monday, Oct. 20.
The Tar Heels enter the fall season with three ranked singles players, according to the ITA preseason rankings. Sophomores Brayden Schnur and Ronnie Schneider are slotted at No. 7 and No. 23, respectively. Junior Brett Clark, who broke UNC's single-season singles wins record with 37 victories in 2013-14, is ranked No. 52.
Carolina's duo of Schnur and Clark is No. 8 in the ITA's preseason doubles rankings.
