Jason Ray was the UNC Rameses mascot who was killed in a auto-pedestrian accident while in New Jersey with the Tar Heel men's basketball team at the 2007 NCAA Tournament. HIs organ donation drew national attention in the aftermath of his death.

The Jason Kendall Ray foundation is dedicated to a mission of education, community service, and raising awareness for organ donation. In addition to raising awareness, the foundation raises money for the UNC Hospital Comprehensive Transplant Center's Foundation (which has set up a fund in Ray's honor). Ray started many good works during his short, but full life. This foundation is dedicated to continuing those good works in his name.
