The doubles point went down to the wire with Carolina's top-ranked duo of Hayley Carter of Whitney Kay pulling out the opening point with a 7-6 (5) victory over Martina Frantova and Tayla Stenta.
Ashley Dai and Chloe Ouellet-Pizer put UNC on the board with a 6-2 win over Barbara Mancera and Claudia Wiktorin on court three.
Court two also went to a tiebreak with No. 84 Aney and Kate Vialle battling NC State's Joanna Nalborska and Taylor Zaytoun to a 6-6 draw.
Cassandra Vazquez got the ball rolling in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Zaytoun on court six.
No. 30 Kay and top-ranked Carter were next to earn Tar Heel victories to clinch the match over the Wolfpack on courts two and one, respectively.
No. 62 Jessie Aney won 6-1, 6-2 over Tayla Stenta on court three, and Marika Akkerman pulled off a straight set win on court five to make it 6-0 in favor of the home standing Tar Heels.
UNC faces No. 30 Virginia Tech on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Tar Heels return home to host No. 55 Boston College on Sunday at 1 p.m. on Senior Day. Dai, Kay and Vialle will all be honored before the match begins against the Eagles.
