Singles Draw Doubles Draw Singles Back Draw

CARY, N.C. – Senior Robert Kelly and sophomore Josh Peck both advanced to the third round as the ITA Carolinas Regional kicked off play Friday at Cary Tennis Park.

Kelly, the No. 3 seed in the field, moved on with straight-sets wins over Charlotte's Alex Garcia and Furman's Drew Singerman. He'll face UNCG's Connor Thompson Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Peck dropped his first set of the day in a tiebreaker but went on to beat Wofford's Julian Chousa, 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-3. In his next match he beat Clemson's Sam Edwards, 6-1, 7-6(4) Peck plays at 10 a.m. Saturday vs. Gardner Webb's Maximillian Scholl.

Junior Blaine Boyden and sophomore Kavir Kumar earned opening round wins but both fell in the second round.

Junior Anu Kodali and sophomore Ladd Harrison lost in the first round Friday but both will compete in the back draw on Saturday starting at 8 a.m.

Three Tar Heel doubles teams will compete on Saturday. Harrison and Kodali play at 12:30 p.m., Boyden and Peck at 1:30 p.m., and Kelly and Soendergaard, seeded No. 2 in the field, at 2:30.
