After leading the North Carolina women's soccer team with nine goals and 20 points last season, Bridgette Andrzejewski recorded one and seven, respectively, through 10 games this year.
Â
But with the Tar Heels locked in a tie with Duke atop the Atlantic Coast Conference standings, Andrzejewski has elevated her play.
Â
Andrzejewski helped fifth-ranked UNC improve to 12-2 overall and 8-0 in the ACC on Thursday, scoring the third goal in a 4-0 victory at Virginia Tech. With the win, the team finished 6-0 in its regular-season conference road matches. Â
Â
Thursday's goal, which came in the 74th minute, marked Andrzejewski's fourth in as many games. During that span, she's tallied a team-high nine points.
Â
But despite her playmaking ability, Andrzejewski's versatility might be of even more importance down the stretch. After starting at forward in 11 of 13 matches this season, she started Thursday's game at the right midfield spot vacated by Emily Fox, who tore an ACL in the win over Boston College last Saturday.
Â
Alea Hyatt slid into Andrzejewski's starting forward spot Thursday. And Hyatt's first career goal, which came in the 87th minute, capped the scoring for the Tar Heels.
Â
Del Rosario's late-game heroics
Â
After nine straight wins, tied for the second longest streak in program history, the men's soccer team entered Tuesday's match against No. 18 Old Dominion winless over its past two. And through 87 minutes, it seemed as if that drought might continue.
Â
But Lucas Del Rosario, playing in his first match since Oct. 3, changed that.
Â
With the fourth-ranked Tar Heels trailing 1-0 in the 88th minute, Del Rosario scored his third career goal to send the game into overtime. Neither team scored in the first extra session. But Jeremy Kelly found Del Rosario for the game-winner in the 102nd minute, handing UNC a 2-1 double-overtime win.

Maggie Kane won one of her 10 singles matches as a junior last season. But after duplicating that win total through her first six this fall, she added another singles victory Thursday.
Â
In the first round of the ITA Carolinas Regional Championship's qualifying singles draw, Kane upended UNCW's Sabrina Barisano, 6-0, 6-2, at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. However, Campbell's Lou Regen ultimately defeated Kane, 6-1, 6-1, in the second round.
Â
The main draw doubles also began Thursday. UNC fielded five tandems, three of which advanced to Friday's Round of 16.Â
