UNC Blanks Wake Forest

North Carolina (24-2, 10-1 ACC) has not surrendered a point since dropping a 4-3 decision to Georgia Tech back on Saturday, April 1 in Chapel Hill. UNC has won all 25 available points since its first and only loss in the conference.
After winning the doubles point in a comfortable fashion to lead 1-0 over the Deacs, freshmen #87 Makenna Jones and #47 Alexa Graham each won 6-0, 6-0 on courts five and three, respectively.
Sandwiched in between those results was sophomore Chloe Ouellet-Pizer's 6-0, 6-1 win on court six.
No. 27 sophomore Jessie Aney cruised on court three, 6-4, 6-0 to make it 5-0 Tar Heels.
Carolina's top two lines were pushed a little but fought admirably to fend off Wake Forest, who fell to 16-8 overall and 6-6 against the Atlantic Coast Conference.
No. 8 Sara Daavettila went to a third set super breaker and trailed 6-0, but stormed back for a 10-7 win in the final set on court two.
No. 2 Hayley Carter was down early in her match with #52 Kimmy Guerin, however, she ultimately won the opening set in a tiebreaker and then held on for the straight-set victory to notch career win No. 160.
Carolina wraps up the final week of the regular season with three home matches, including Wednesday's matinee with No. 14 Duke at 3 p.m. The Tar Heels also have Pitt on Saturday at 11 a.m., and Syracuse on Sunday at 1 p.m.
