UNC Men's Tennis Continues Play In Cary

Four Tar Heels competing in singles and doubles.
Four Tar Heels were in action Friday at Cary Tennis Park Friday as part of the Duke James Bonk Invitational. Sophomores Simon Soendergaard, Josh Peck, Ladd Harrison and Kavir Kumar all competed in singles and doubles and will continue play on Saturday.

Soendergaard, seeded second in the A1 draw, beat Louisville's Brandon Lancaster in three sets to advance. He'll face George Washington's Maimillan Scholl on Saturday.

In the A2 draw, Peck won in straight sets over Wake Forest's Yuval Solomon, 6-0, 6-4. He'll take on North Florida's Till Von Winning on Saturday.

In the B draw, Kumar moved on with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Auburn's Viboosh Chandrasekar. Next up is Elon's Jacob Bicknell.

Harrison fell to VCU's Philip Mobius, the top seed in the B draw, and will take on George Washigton's Breno Plentz on Saturday.

In doubles, Soendergaard and Peck won their first match but fell in the second and will play in the A2 draw's third-place match. They'll face Princeton's Payton Holden and Jimmy Wasserman.

Harrison and Kumar lost their first match but won the second and will continue play in the consolation bracket, facing Albert DeMeo and Till Von Winning from University of North Florida.Â
