October 28, 2018 | Women's Golf
WILMINGTON, NC – The North Carolina women's golf team concluded its fall slate with a ninth place finish at the Landfall Tradition. The Tar Heels finished at 42-over as a team at the par-72, 6,166-yard Country Club of Landfall Dye Course.
For the second straight tournament, senior Kelly Whaley led the way for the Tar Heels, shooting 4-over for the weekend and even par in the final round. Her final round featured her trademarked consistency, with two birdies and two bogeys through her first nine holes, before settling in for nine pars on the back. Whaley finished 10th individually for the tournament.

Jennifer Zhou shot a 5-over 77 in her final round. After a few bogeys on the front nine, she settled in and had just one on the back nine along with eight pars. Zhou finished the tournament at
Mariana Ocano matched the finish she had at the Tar Heel Invitational, finishing 16-over. Ocano carded a 4-over 76 in the final round to shoot.
Nicole Lu struggled this weekend, and finished with an 8-over 80 in the final round to move to 25-over.
Ava Bergner, playing as an individual, shot a 79 during the final round to finish 19-over on the weekend.
The Tar Heels now have a few months off during the winter. Carolina returns to action in 112 days, on February 17, at the Allstate Sugarbowl Intercollegiate in New Orleans, La.
