Tar Heels Celebrate Heeloween At Children's Hospital
October 31, 2018 | Student-Athlete Development, Carolina Outreach
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Halloween became Heeloween Wednesday as North Carolina student-athletes hosted their annual holiday party for young patients at UNC Children's Hospital. Approximately 40 costumed Tar Heels participated throughout the afternoon, helping to decorate the hospital's Pediatric Play Atrium and then host the party.
Members of the cross country, field hockey, men's golf, women's golf, gymnastics, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, rowing, softball and track and field teams participated.
At the party, Tar Heel student-athletes helped lead games and craft projects. They also delivered goodie bags to patients who weren't able to come to the playroom.
The UNC Pediatrics TarHealers (pediatric residents) and Children's Hospital volunteers partnered with UNC Athletics in hosting the event.
Carolina student-athletes are active in the community throughout the year, volunteering at UNC Children's Hospital and with many other organizations. For more, follow UNC Student-Athlete Development on Facebook and Twitter (@UNC_SADev).
