Tar Heels Lead The ACC With 15 CRCA Scholar-Athletes

Fifteen North Carolina rowers and coxswains have been named CRCA Scholar-Athletes, as announced recently by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. Atlantic Coast Conference schools had a record 76 student-athletes honored, and UNC's 15 was the top total among ACC programs. Â

The recognition requires a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. Honorees also must have raced in one of the school's NCAA eligible boats (varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four) for at least 75 percent of spring races.

Katie Bell, a rising junior from Rutherfordton, N.C., who is majoring in exercise & sport science
Paige Colpo, a rising senior from Cary, N.C. who is working toward a double major in journalism and peace, war & defense.
Adelaide Cooke, a rising senior from Cary, N.C., who is working toward a double major in biology and chemistry
Morgan Donnelly, a May graduate from Huntersville, N.C., who earned a double major in strategic communication and sport administration
Elizabeth Farley, a rising senior from Mooresville, N.C., who is majoring in economics
Lauren Ferner, a rising sophomore from Hickory, N.C., who has not yet declared a major
Hannah Fisher, a rising sophomore from Fairfax, Va., who has not declared a major
Margaret High, a rising senior from Whiteville, N.C., who is majoring in journalism
Kathryn Johnson, a May graduate from Thomasville, N.C., who majored in biochemistry
Jackie Kenny, a May graduate from Castle Rock, Colo., who majored in English
Madeline Lavin, a rising sophomore from Port Washington, N.Y., who is majoring in political science
Laura Naylor, a rising senior from Chapel Hill who is working toward a double major in psychology and biology
Sally Stanley, a rising junior from Philadelphia who is majoring in philosophy
Sofia Triana, a rising junior from Charlotte who is majoring in history
Sara Zetterberg, a rising senior from Knoxville, Tenn., who is working toward a double major in history and English
