UNC Unveils New Traffic & Parking Features In Official GoHeels App

CHAPEL HILL—The University of North Carolina, its multimedia partner Tar Heel Sports Properties and online provider SIDEARM Sports are excited to unveil a new version of the official GoHeels mobile app, designed for Carolina fans attending UNC home games.

The app's new features include interactive, real-time traffic and parking information for fans attending Tar Heel home games in Chapel Hill, beginning with the football home opener on September 15 against Central Florida. UNC and public safety officials also will be able to use the app to send push notifications to fans on gamedays as traffic or weather events develop.

The traffic and parking features are available in the "Gameday" section of the GoHeels app for iOS and Android devices, accessible by tapping on the app's menu icon (at the upper left of the screen).

    • Real-time traffic and parking updates to keep fans informed with up-to-the-minute information

    • Downloadable maps with suggested routes in and out of campus to major parking and tailgate areas

    • Tar Heel Express shuttle bus service maps and information

    • The ability to purchase parking passes directly from the app

    • A Kenan Stadium map with locations of entrance gates, concessions areas and more

Gameday traffic and parking features in the GoHeels app are available initially for football but will include Olympic sports and men's basketball soon.Â

The GoHeels app features all the latest Carolina sports news, as well as live game audio from the Tar Heel Sports Network, exclusive videos from GoHeels Productions, schedules, rosters, scores, stats and more.
