"We looking forward to the season," UNC coach Sam Paul said. "We've got a great group of guys who are very committed to being best they can be. We're ready to get started."
Last year's Tar Heels were 24-6 and reached the NCAA Round of 16 for the fifth year in a row. UNC swept the 2018 ACC player awards, with William Blumberg named Player of the Year and Benjamin Sigouin named Freshman of the Year.
UNC opens the season this weekend with a warm-up tournament at Vanderbilt. The Tar Heels' first home matches are on Jan. 19, when they'll host Bucknell at 10 a.m. and Wofford at 4:30 p.m. Carolina hosts ITA Kickoff Weekend action on Jan. 25-26, with the Duke, Middle Tennessee and Utah traveling to Chapel Hill.
"We'll play a very challenging schedule, as always," Paul said. We expect that because we're playing in the most challenging conference in the country."
