Tar Heels Drop One-Run Game to Georgia Tech

CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina scored two runs in the first inning, but the Yellow Jackets responded to pick up a 3-2 decision Sunday afternoon at Anderson Stadium.
Georgia Tech took the series, 2-1, and improves to 22-12, 5-4 in the ACC. UNC slides to 16-12, 6-3 in conference.
Key Moments
» Leah Murray sent a leadoff single up the middle before a passed ball and ground-out advanced her to third. Kristina Burkhardt sent a sac-fly to right, the outfielder misplayed it allowing her to reach second. Berlynne Delamora scored Burkhardt on an RBI-single. Shayla Thompson entered to run and stole second.
» Georgia Tech cut the lead in half as Rebecca Prairie sent a solo-shot to left in the third. Bailee Zeitler gave the Jackets a 3-1 lead on a home run in the fourth.
» Murray put down a bunt for her third hit of the day in the sixth. Delamora drew a two-out walk but the runners are left on base.
